Partner organizations and/or artists are required to sign a legal settlement with DOT and supply a certificate of insurance naming the City as an extra insured. As per the settlement, the artist receives credit, sole ownership, and copyright of the final design and art work, but is required to increase to the City and the companion group the proper to a royalty-free, perpetual license to make use of any depiction of the paintings for non-industrial purposes.
