Fifteen barangays are participating in this year’s MassKara Festival Street and Arena Dance Competition, while 10 barangays are joining the Electric MassKara performing float competition, streetdance committee chairman Rudy Reveche announced Friday (Aug. 10).
The contingents for the streetdance barangay category, scheduled on Oct. 21, are Brgys. 1, 3, 6, 11, 16, 17, 21, 26, 29, 32, 37, 39, Alijis, Cabug, and Felisa.
For the Electric MassKara performing float competition slated Oct. 19, the contingents are Brgys. 2, 7, 23, 30, 33, 35, 38, 40, Taculing, and Tangub.
Festival director Eli F. J. Tajanlangit said the Electric MassKara performing float competition will use live music, while the streetdance barangay and school categories will use the music which shall be chosen from among the entries in “MusiKara: The Search for the 2012 MassKara Festival Music.”
The winning music will be known on September 7 during the MusiKara Final Performance Night at the Bacolod Government Center.*
